'Fear Factor' returns Dec. 12
NBC has set a return date for "Fear Factor." Peacock is bringing back the venerable reality skein for a two-hour premiere at 8 p.m. Dec. 12. Show, which will run for eight weeks, will fill the Monday timeslot vacated by "The Sing Off," which will have ended the previous week. Premise of "Fear Factor" is to see which contestants can endure the most stomach-churning endeavors. The team that wins earns a $50,000 prize. The show aired on NBC from 2001-06 and was hosted by Joe Rogan, who will return to his emcee duties for the second go-around. "We have taken the 'Fear Factor' franchise that many fans remember fondly and have ramped it up to make it even more challenging and competitive than ever before," said NBC alternative topper Paul Telegdy. Skein is produced by Endemol USA and exec produced are Matt Kunitz and David Hurwitz. Contact Stuart Levine at stuart.levine@variety.com
